From 1993 to 2002, Chevrolet produced the fourth-generation Camaro. It was built on the F-body platform that had been updated. The chassis was revised, and front suspension was new. In 1998, both changes were made to the exterior and to the engine. The 98 SS Camaro came with a forced air induction system, a high-performance handling suspension package, SS badges, a cool-looking spoiler, and 17-inch aluminum alloy wheels.
This is a great 1998 Camaro SS that has been very well cared for over the years. The exterior paint is the original black and it is still in excellent condition. Only 10,355 models were produced with black paint. All glass is original and in excellent shape and so are the badges. The body-colored bumpers still look new.
Interior is the original gray cloth bucket seat interior and features inserts with a center herringbone pattern that match the inserts on the door panels. The four-seater interior has the center armrest with storage, a cupholder, and 4-way adjustable driver's seat. Back seat is a fixed folding rear bench seat. Along with full carpeting, the floormats are carpet. Other interior features are a lighted glove box, interior lights, lighted vanity mirrors on the visors, a day and night rearview mirror, tilt and adjustable sport steering wheel, and door storage bins. There is also more storage in the cargo area.
Other features are tinted windows, clock, dual airbags, intermittent wipers, fixed antenna, AM/FM stereo with seek and scan feature and four speakers. Instruments include tachometer, water temperature, voltmeter, oil pressure gauge, and warning indicators.
Engine is the original LS1 V8 with sequential fuel injection. Horsepower delivers 320 HP, this Camaro has had the SLP intake package by SLP Engineering that increases the horsepower to 327. Transmission is the factory 4-speed automatic.
Miles are 80,900 carefully driven miles. This car runs and drives with excellent performance. It has been garaged its entire life and has been well maintained.
This is a great collector car as it is a limited production and is the last year of the fourth-generation Camaros. It! will increase in value over the years and will bring lots of joy to the new owner!
Car is in Kansas and is available for viewing by serious buyers and by appointment.
