The Volkswagen Karmann Beetle beginnings can be traced back to 1939 when Ferdinand Porsche designed the original Volkswagen Beetle. The model became his legacy. The German government asked Ferdinand to design an economical and practical peoples car. A factory was supplied to produce it. The Volkswagen Beetle later on became one of the worlds best-selling vehicles.
In 1975, the VW Karmann Beetle Cabriolet made technological advancement by introducing electronic fuel injection. This was the year that the Super Beetle went away as new power ratings dominated the industry.
Today the Beetle remains a very popular classic car and has a huge following of enthusiasts and collectors. Mechanicals are relatively easy and spare parts supplies are easy enough to find.
This 75 VW Karmann Beetle convertible is ideal for the collector who wants to make a perfect car. As is, the car is in very good driving condition and can be enjoyed as is. The white exterior was repainted, the original color was red. The pearl white paint now is fair as there are some bubbles in the typical areas that these cars are known for. However, the restoration was done 15 years ago and it does not appear that it is getting worse or is a basket case.
The black convertible top is new and looks sharp. It is easy to put up and down.
The interior is the black bucket seat interior and seats are very good. The dash is in very good condition and has no rips or tears. Door panels are also in good condition. A couple of handles for the windows are missing but that is an easy remedy.
Engine is the 1.6 liter 4 cylinder fuel injected. It starts up right away and runs very well. Miles show 78,500.
Underneath does not appear to have rust through. It does have the typical surface rust and the front passenger floor pan does as well. No rust through is noted. The area under the spare tire is solid with no surface rust or rust through.
