It is not often that you see a 1942 Ford much less the Businessman Coupe. Only a limited number of businessman coupes were built. Due to WWII, Ford halted production of civilian vehicles on February 10, 1942. Any cars subsequently produced were taken away to the military or government warehouses. Ford produced slightly less than 160,000 cars for 1942 with only 5,411 being Super Deluxe Business Coupes.
The Business Coupe was built for the traveling salesman. As there was no need for a back seat, the car was built with the doors the same size as the door of a 4-door sedan. Behind the seat is a concealed compartment that allowed for just enough room to place samples or a briefcase. The trunk was much larger so that the salesman could carry plenty of merchandise.
This is an incredible 1942 Ford is a rare find. Exterior exhibits very good Fathom Blue paint and the chrome and trim are in excellent condition as well.
Interior is tan and is the original LeBaron Bonney interior. All interior components are in excellent like new condition. Woodgrain is still shiny and excellent.
Engine is the 221 cid Flathead V8 paired with a 3-speed manual transmission. Features are the circle horn, beautiful woodgrain trim in excellent condition, clock, radio, and heater.
